  • Wrinkles

Playing some more with my new software. Here's two 'paintings' of my friend's dog Wrinkles.

I like the first one better but wish I had done it with browns instead of greys.  The second one I used 'oils' instead of chalks like the first one.  I think I need much more practice in that medium.

  • Merry Christmas... a little late.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I finally uploaded the software that came with my best present ever (pen and tablet for photo editing).  I got ragged on a bit for opening it early in the first place.  I'm still a kid at heart- sue me.  :)

Anyway, the software that came with it is awesome.  Corel Paint or something like that.  Unlike the software I've been using, you can actually control the painting and do stuff by hand.  I love it.  Here's my favorite sample so far...

I'll post more as I get used to it and get a little faster with the turn around.

  • Dixie

Of the close to 100 pictures I took on Thanksgiving morning, these are my favorite of the white horse Dixie.

Let me know what you think!

This one I really played with to make it sort of dreamy.

  • More New York!

I'm writing this with my new toy. Just because and for practice. I have been feeling better as the day progresses so I actually worked on some pictures From New York.  "Typing" this way is  kind of fun. Slow. Pointless. But definitely fun. And good practice.

I didn't mess with this one at all. I took it from the Brooklyn Bridge looking at the Manhattan Bridge and city sky line.

This a light on the bridge. I just liked the old fashioned look of it. I used a filter to turn it into a drawing. I am pleased with how it turned out.

Another bridge pic. I turned this one be w then turned it into a drawing , added a blue tint, then hand painted the flag with my tablet and pen. What  do you think?

One of my favorites from our trip. This is altered, too, but I won't bore  you with more details.

Well, it's off to sleep for me.
  • New York

I'm sick again... and while life goes on for those of us who are sick constantly... picture editing doesn't.  All I've done in the last few days is make this half hearted 'video' in picasa with my 9/11 related pictures.  I'm not even sure this is going to work, but here it goes.

The eeriest thing is the green piece of glass... it was from one of the planes that hit the tower.  Most of the indoor photos are from the NYC Police Museum.  It was really neat.  They had a room full of badges representing officers who lost their lives in the line of duty.  That was sobering and awe inspiring.  There weren't as many badges from 9/11 as I'd expected, but perhaps they don't show them all... I don't know.

Anyway, I hope to post more pics soon.
